Longer and heavier than the standard Karashi, and it does four different jobs on one cast.
The Karashi 80 is an upsized premium twitchbait that fishes on casting or spinning tackle. It sinks slowly, then reacts to rod-tip twitches by darting left and right in a walk-the-dog action normally reserved for surface baits. Reel it slow for a subtle rolling wobble, or hit it with quick upward twitches right after splashdown and it leaps and walks frantically across the surface. On the Big O that extended darting range is what pulls the followers — the pressured fish that track a bait and won't commit — and it's just as at home blind casting as it is on forward-facing sonar.
- I-Motion: super-slow retrieve for a defenseless wobbling action that reads as injured bait
- Twitching: a rod twitch sets it darting sub-surface to trigger reaction bites from followers
- Dog-walk: rhythmic surface twitches deliver a smooth walking action; pauses let it slow-sink and rise again
- Bait-busting: fast upward twitches make it walk, splash and leap like fleeing baitfish
- 3D scales and gills, realistic eyes, refined Megabass paint schemes
- Precision trebles and a wispy tinsel tail for secondary action
